“Everyone in childcare is a hero in some way in my opinion, especially over the last couple of years, but I would like to specifically talk about A Tiny Lab’s director Jillian Farris. The admin team of one.
She does everything she can to accommodate the needs of her staff, she reminds us to take care of ourselves, she makes time to hear us and she tells us that it’s okay to take a day off before we need it. Even through being short staffed to handling whatever it is the government has decided to throw at ECEs, to keeping track of cases and advocating for our field, she somehow still keeps the wellbeing of herself, the families, their children and her staff in mind. All while being a parent. Truly a full time juggling act.
Even on the bad, stressful, yucky days I know I wouldn’t want to be working anywhere else. She’s a hero.”
