“This woman is Executive Director of Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home. She and her partner Jenn have three school-age kids. Angela has to run an underfunded nursing home within a system that, until recently at least, seemed to ignore the long term care sector. And now nursing homes are coping again with COVID, meaning no volunteers or family members to help ease the burden and soothe the residents. She routinely deals with angry families, dissatisfied union members and indifferent funders, yet maintains a friendly demeanour and is above all, caring in the face of a lot she cannot control. She’s my hero.”
